Santa Barbara beach

Some book mentioned that dolphins sometimes swim right up to this beach, which we treated like an ‘urban’ legend. The beach itself is gorgeous, with black sand and rocks (thanks to the nearby Chaiten volcano) and we spent the night at an old b&b overlooking the beach. The second time we went there, Yael was walking on the beach searching for rocks and talking on the phone, when a group of dolphins came 10 meters from her for 10 minutes without her noticing . Until i ran up to her with the camera, shouting…

Punta Tombo penguin colony

Largest colony in the world with 400,000 birds, we walked between them for 30 minutes in what seemed like 20 degrees below zero. The penguins were looking at us dressed up and thinking what are these humans doing here?

Whales, seals, penguins and guanacos, oh my…

After the incredible morning with the whales, we took off into the peninsula to see other wild animals. Driving on wet dirt roads, we stopped at several viewpoints. Elephant seals were fighting a 100 meters beneath us, and when we stopped at the Penguin site, i took out the 300mm lens only to found out i had to watch out not to step on them
